Meet Our Vendors-Funny Farm Apiaries

The Shop at Amy’s Upcycles is proud to carry high-quality products from exceptionally talented vendors. We are even more proud of the work that these vendors do in the community.  Funny Farm Apiaries located in Berks County Pennsylvania, is run by Mark and Wendy Fujita, and their son Kevin.

They are honored to participate in the Hives for Heroes Program. Hives for Heros is a national military veteran non-profit organization dedicated to honey bee conservation and fostering a healthy transition from service for veterans. The organization pairs veterans and beekeepers nationwide to support the bee population and provide support to veterans suffering from PTSD. Hives for Heros is a nationwide non-profit run by volunteers looking to serve those veterans who have selflessly served our country.  Funny Farm Apiaries partners with Hives for Heros through a mentorship program. Participating veterans spend time at the farm learning beekeeping skills. Upon graduating from the program, the veteran is gifted a split of a hive to begin their own beekeeping.
